'It's an incredibly short trailer— they promised it was a teaser though, so I guess we should have expected as much— and focuses on Katniss running through the woods. At first glimpse she could be hunting in the woods that surround her home in District 12, but soon she's being attacked by the fireballs that are clearly part of the Hunger Games. The money shot is really her shooting that arrow, Katniss's signature move that might be the most important element for Jennifer Lawrence to nail in playing the character.
The voiceover narration is coming from Liam Hemsworth as Gale, Katniss’s childhood friend who plays only a minor role in the first book, but becomes more important later on. The voiceover is just further confirmation that his role has been expanded from the book, both to emphasize the love triangle that’s an important part of the story and to make it more clear to the audience how important Gale is to Katniss. But while I worried that the first trailer, especially one debuting during the VMAs, would emphasize the love triangle to the point of making it Twilight, that’s not at all what’s happening here. Gale’s voiceover is all about Katniss’s skills and her strengths, and we’re not seeing Jennifer Lawrence gazing deeply at either of the guys in her life— she’s dodging fireballs and shooting arrows, just as her fans from the book would expect her to. Say what you will about how frustratingly short this is, but that is the Katniss we know.’
Oh goodness. I’d have to re-read the whole series right now to tell you this. I guess maybe when Katniss killed the boy from District 1 (…I think it is?….) after he shot the spear through Rue. Mostly because she had a reason for killing him, it wasn’t because she was defending herself or trying to win, but because he had killed her friend.
That’s not really my favorite, but it’s really the only one I can think of…there’s way to many. maybe ill go back and change this later.
Day four: A character you hate that every one loves.
Johanna Mason. I know she’s described as snarky and mean but you have to admire her strength. And you see in Mockingjay that’s she’s actually not as tough as she seems. Like everyone, she has a soft side. it’s just not seen as much because with the society she’s in, she’s made herself seem heartless, but actually, i think she’s really just afraid of being hurt. ,
Day three: A character you love but everyone else hates.
Foxface. She’s so clever, when you think about it. She went into the Hunger Games and somehow ended up figuring an ingenious strategy that didn’t Involve killing anyone. I’m not quite sure if she have many surviving skills(such as knowing what berries were edible and which were not, hunting, etc.), but to me, she’s so brilliant she didn’t need any. She found a way to feed herself & stay safe without turning brutal.
But not because she was the main character, but because i understand her. a lot of people don’t like her because of some of her actions. Katniss’ character is SO similar to me, even in her bad traits, that’s its kind of weird.
